Man pulls gun on 3 women, smashes car window, report states

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A dispute over money led to a man smashing the back window of a car with three women inside early Sunday morning, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

Police responded to a report of a possible weapons law violation at about 5 a.m., and spoke to two female victims, aged 48 and 40. According to the police report, they told the officer that a friend arrived to pick them up from a hotel near Broadway at the Beach.

Before the three women could pull off, a car pulled up behind them, and a man emerged with a metal baseball bat, the report states. He started to argue with a 25-year-old woman in the backseat about money she allegedly owed him, and he began to poke her with the bat. The man then threatened the woman and began to pull a handgun from his waistband, the victims told police.

One of the women shouted for the driver to go, and as they started to drive off, the man smashed the car's rear window with the bat, they told police. The woman who was arguing with the man refused to be taken to the hospital and was dropped off at her home, the report states.

The other two women drove to the police department and started a report. Officers also found glass on the ground where the incident occurred.
