FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – The mother of a child that tested positive for illegal drugs was arrested Thursday, according to a news release from the Florence County Sheriff's Department.

Mia Cooper Grimsley, 31, was arrested by FCSO investigators and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child. According to investigators, Grimsley gave birth to a child on or about June 1, 2013, who tested positive for illegal drugs.

Investigators allege Grimsley used cocaine while pregnant, and placed the child at unreasonable risk of harm. She is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
