Beach, Boogie, and BBQ Festival

  • The eighth annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival is a three-day celebration of delicious barbeque, free live entertainment, family fun and a whole lot more.
  • We know what the star attraction's going to be - the food! And all we can say is you'd better come hungry! The event will feature barbeque from over 75 competitors and vendors. The event's contest is the official South Carolina Barbecue Championship.
  • There's going to be live wake board and flyboard demonstrations, a kids' zone for the youngsters and a beer and wine garden for the adults. For more Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival information, call 843-626-7444.

Holiday closings:

Myrtle Beach City offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day.

However, solid waste and recycling will be collected on their regular schedule on Monday and throughout the week of Sept. 2 to Sept. 6.

The SC Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of the Labor Day state holiday.

All Horry County offices, other than public safety operations, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day. Regular courts may be in operation in the Horry County Government & Justice Center, and all jurors, witnesses, etc. will be required to be present.

In addition, both the Horry County Museum and the LW Paul Living History Farm will be closed on Saturday, August 31, 2013, for the Labor Day holiday (both are closed on Mondays).

North Myrtle Beach City Hall and the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center will be closed on Monday.

The Aquatic & Fitness Center will be open and will adhere to the regular schedule. Public Safety services will be provided as usual. Sanitation services will adhere to the regular collection schedule.

Georgetown County government offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day.
