FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Two little league umpires en route to a baseball game were taken to jail once police spotted them on the hunt for drugs in Florence.

Maj. Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department confirms 44-year-old Wayne Taylor of Whiteville, NC and 41-year-old John Bradley of Florence were spotted loitering near a known drug location on Marion Street.

When police stopped their car, the men said they were on their way to umpire a little league game in Columbia, which explained the baseball equipment they had in the car.

But the men also had more than seven grams of marijuana with them.

Bradley and Taylor were charged with possession of marijuana and loitering for purpose of drug activity when booked in the Florence County Detention Center. They have both been released on bond.
