MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach man is behind bars after reportedly making threats into a handheld radio stolen from the locker room at a popular Grand Strand attraction.

Russell Stanley Owens, 54, was arrested on Monday and charged with larceny and public intoxication.

The Myrtle Beach Police report states security at the Skywheel on Ocean Boulevard reported Owens was acting disorderly around daybreak after hearing him yelling outside their office.

They found him outside with a handheld radio, shouting that the Elvis truck was going to blow up the building. Management confronted Owens and got their radio back. The report states it was removed from a common locker room.

Owens then fled the area. Police arrived and located him in the middle of Ocean Boulevard, waving at passing cars. He smelled of alcohol, and his speech was slurred, the report states.

Owens reiterated to the officers that a truck was going to blow up the Skywheel before he was placed in handcuffs.

The report states police located an Elvis Sewage truck in the area, but it was conducting business at the time and their was nothing suspicious about it.

Owens' bond is set at $939.
