HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A power outage in Horry County left an estimated 3,270 customers without electricity Sunday evening, according to the Horry Electric Cooperative's website.

The outages were in an area along State Highway 57 and SC-9 south of Longs. The outages lasted for over an hour before being repaired at about 9 p.m., according to updates from the company.

A dead tree fell on the power line outside a substation, Horry Electric Cooperative stated in a tweet. Crews on scene removed the dead tree, and checked the equipment to make sure it operated correctly.

"We appreciate the patience of the more than 3,000 members impacted by the outage this evening," the company stated in a tweet.
