Apache Pier hosting Local's Appreciation Day

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Representatives from the Apache Pier, the longest wooden pier on the east coast, said in a statement that it will host the 7th Annual Local's Appreciation Day on Saturday,  August 24.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and admission to the pier will be free for fishing, walking  and entertainment. There will be free popcorn and ice cream while supplies last.

The covered stage at the center of the pier will host most of the entertainment. A South Carolina fishing license is not required to fish from the pier, and bait, tackle and fishing rods are available for purchase or rent in the pier store.

The Apache Pier is local to the public all year. There is a restaurant, a bait and tackle shop, restrooms and the stage and dance floor at the center of the pier.

The Apache Pier is located at 9700 Kings Road in Myrtle Beach.
