Suspect flees into woods after high-speed chase

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A suspect is still on the run after leading Georgetown County Sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase Thursday night.

That chase begun after deputies working traffic enforcement clocked a 2003 Ford Expedition driving 95 miles per hour on Highway 17 around 8 p.m.

When the deputies activates blue lights, the car didn't stop and lead deputies into Charleston County before making a u-turn and fleeing on foot into the woods.

Charleston and Georgetown County authorities searched but did not find the driver. The car was towed.
