MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Warnings in place in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand until 1:45 a.m.

FLOOD WARNINGS have been extended until 1:45 a.m. for northwestern Horry, northern Marion, southeastern Dillon, and southern Robeson counties.

A FLOOD WARNING has also been issued for southern and central Horry County and northern Georgetown County where very heavy rainfall is moving in once again.

One to three inches of rain are possible in areas from Pawleys Island to Garden City, Surfside Beach, Burgess, Socastee, Carolina Forest, Conway and Shell

As much as two to five inches of rain has already fallen in these areas with another one to three inches possible. Flooding is already occurring in many areas. Remember to never drive through flooded roadways. Please send any reports or pictures of flooding to weather@wmbfnews.com.

According to the NWS, a flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Flooding is expected to become a problem in the warned area, especially at poor drainage locations along drainage ditches, small creeks, and low spots along roadways and fields.

Storm Team Meteorologist Jamie Arnold says the Grand Strand and Pee Dee will continue to get several rounds of downpours through Tuesday with lots of lightning and very heavy rain. We'll slowly start to dry out by the middle of the week with just a few pop up showers and storms.

More sunshine will push temperatures into the upper 80s to near 90. By the 4th of July, we're back to a typical summer weather pattern with plenty of heat, humidity, and just a SLIGHT chance of an afternoon storm.
