Line of storms brings threat of wind, lightning

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The WMBF Storm Team is closely watching storms that threaten the Grand Strand and Pee Dee tonight with strong winds.

Storm Team Meteorologist Jessica Ryan reports that a line of storms on the HD Doppler Radar is moving off to the northeast at 35 miles per hour.

Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph are possible, and there is a lot of lightning.

A Severe Thunderstorm WARNING remains in effect for Robeson County in North Carolina and Marion, Dillon, Florence, and Horry counties until 7:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service has reported down trees in Florence County and Darlington County.

Lows Tuesday night will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. On Wednesday, some left over showers and storms are possible with highs in the low to mid 80s.
