PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - Police in Georgetown County have arrested the man identified as the suspect in the strong armed robbery of the Pawleys Island Bakery.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing grey and red striped shirt, black pants, black shoes and a grey hat when the crime was reported on May 10.

The man entered a business on the 10,500 block of Ocean Highway around 1:20 p.m. that day requesting change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, authorities say the man reached into the drawer and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

He then fled on foot, and never displayed a weapon.

Later identified as 22-year-old Jimmie Singletary of Kingstree, police found their man and booked him into the Georgetown County Detention Center on Friday, May 31. He has been charged with purse snatching.
