Police investigate condo fire as arson

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police are looking for leads after responding to a fire at the Cedar Creek Condominiums that may have been intentionally set.

That fire was reported from one of the condo buildings on Cedar Street around 2:15 p.m. Monday afternoon. Myrtle Beach Police responded to assist fire crews with traffic control but remained on scene after investigators located the source of the fire.

The incident report from Myrtle Beach Police says it appears the fire started in one unit after someone broke out a window and set fire to the curtains. Fire was also sparked in the front door area of the adjacent unit, the fire marshal said.

No suspects have been named at this time. Anyone with information about this suspicious fire is asked to contact authorities as soon as possible.
