Preschool placed on lockdown during search for wanted men

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - A Georgetown preschool was placed on lockdown Monday as police pursued two wanted suspects through the historic area of downtown.

Authorities placed Prince George Preschool under temporary lockdown as they chased Dominique Grant and Amon Rutledge through the historic district, and contacted residents in the area about the situation using a reverse 911 system.

Both men were taken into custody and booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center.

According to Captain Nelson Brown with the Georgetown County Police Department, Dominique Grant is wanted for multiple charges by the Myrtle Beach Police, including robbery from the Ocean Plaza Motel. Amon Rutledge is wanted by the Drug Enforcement Unit for narcotics violations.

Captain Brown said that Grant is being held for the Myrtle Beach Police.
