Horry Co. Animal Care Center has 118 April adoptions

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The month of April was a big hit for the Horry County Animal Care Center, which was able to help families adopt 118 pets through aggressive outreach.

They also had 91 animals that were reclaimed or sent to rescues, with a total of 209 animals saved last month.

According to their news release, adoption from the Horry County Animal Care Center is easy. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Potential adopters are encouraged to visit and spend time with any animal they are interested in.

Most of the pets are already spayed or neutered and have their shots up to date, however younger animals may need to be returned later to have shots and/or spay/neutering done.

Adoption fees are $80 for dogs and $50 for cats and include spay/neuter, vaccines including Rabies, heartworm or leukemia testing, heartworm and flea preventative, intestinal parasite treatment and microchipping.

New pet parents also get 30-days free pet health insurance and coupons from local pet businesses. For more information, contact the Horry County Animal Care Center at 843-915-5172 or www.horrycounty.org.
