Myrtle Beach man claims $200,000 lottery prize

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A $10 investment in the South Carolina Education Lottery is paying off for one Myrtle Beach man who just won $200,000.

He bet the one in 600,000 odds for the scratch off Lucky Diamond lottery ticket purchased at a gas station on Highway 544.

"I was stressed out about a lot of things, when I had a notion to buy the ticket," he said.

"I just went for it," he explained. "I wasn't expecting it, and when it happened I was blown away."

His wife jumped up and down when he told her. "I feel like I got a pay raise," he said.

Perfect timing too, the couple is planning to build a new home.

For selling the claimed ticket, Kangaroo Express #3063 in Myrtle Beach received a commission of $2,000.
