Hartsville Police, Marshals arrest shooting suspect

HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - The Hartsville Police Department has placed an attempted murder suspect behind bars after receiving a tip to his location.

The man they were looking for, 24-year-old Tyrez Lavor Johnson or "T-Rex," was wanted for two separate shooting, said Hartsville city spokesman Russell Cox.

The first of those shootings occurred on Tillotson Avenue on Feb. 3, warranting the police to issue warrants for two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The second occurred on Tuesday, April 30 at a convenience store on South Fifth Street. Arrest warrants are still pending for that incident.

The US Marshals Service aided Hartsville Police in the arrest of 24-year-old Tyrez Lavor Johnson, who was booked into the Darlington County Detention Center on Wednesday, May 29 and charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
