DILLON, SC (WMBF) - The $1 million lottery ticket sold in Dillon has been claimed, and the prize is begin split by two brothers.
The man who bought the Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $1 million at Granny's One Stop on Highway 301 in Dillon first told his wife about it.
Lottery officials say she didn't believe him until she checked the numbers for herself. It matched all five white balls - 21, 30, 34, 39, 49 - and he purchased the Megaplier increasing their prize to $1 million. The Megaball drawn was 49.
The next thing he did was call his brother, because they had a long-standing agreement that if either of them won big, they would split the winnings.
"Do you want to go to Columbia to help me pick up a check?" he asked.
They did just that yesterday. "We're helping Mom first," the brothers said in complete agreement.
