FLORENCE, SOUTH CAROLINA (WMBF) - More drugs and guns are off the roads and in the hands of law enforcement, thanks to Operation Strike Force, which just wrapped up this week, adding more than 60 new criminal cases.
According to a press release from the Florence County Sheriff's office, 79 pounds of drugs and four illegal weapons were confiscated. Captain Michael Nunn with the FCSO says 29 people were arrested. Officers recovered more than $70,000.
A host of local and federal agencies took part in the four-day operation. Agencies like the FBI, SLED and ICE were just three of the more than 20 involved in the crackdown.
Sheriff Boone says the ultimate goal of Operation Strike Force is to lower the number of accidents on Florence County's roads.
