Bill moves forward to allow guns in SC restaurants

Guns in restaurants bill

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A South Carolina gun bill is moving quickly through the state house.

This bill will allow people with gun permits to carry their guns into bars and restaurants, instead of leaving them in the car.

There will be a curfew. A new change to the bill won't allow you to carry your gun starting at midnight up until 5 a.m.

Supporters say the change is about public safety, to prevent any dangerous late night situations.

This bill has been dubbed a priority, since concealed weapons classes have been filling up all over South Carolina and more people are trying to be able to get their hands on a gun permit.

With this law, permit holders are not allowed to drink alcohol while carrying firearms.
