Myrtle Beach (WMBF) - The Northwood Plaza Shopping Center will be the newest location for The Fresh Market, which is expanding in South Carolina.

There is a chain head over in Pawley's Island, where the store has been in place since June 2011. Founded in 1982, it's a specialty grocery chain that says they offer high quality food and outstanding customer service. The company told WMBF News they chose the new location because the market is prime for it.

The Northwood Plaza Shopping Center has a lot of 'For Lease' signs, and businesses tell us they hope a new anchor store will bring in more businesses. The complex already has a Food Lion and shoppers say it will be nice to have another option.

"I'm very excited about a new anchor store coming in because it gives me more organic options," says Kathleen Vangeluwe.

The Fresh Market currently operates 131 stores in 25 states. This newest location will be the seventh one in South Carolina and the company says you can expect it to open sometime in late 2013.
