Police make arrest in fatal shooting in NW Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police have made an arrest in a shooting at a house in northwest Charlotte from early Friday morning. 

A press Release from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Saturday morning says they apprehended a suspect in the murder of 42-year-old Davis Wayne Walthall.

The suspect, 21 year old Jacoby Delanio Chambers was taken into custody without incident.

He is currently in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County jail on charges of murder.

The murder which happened at Walt hall's home on the 1600 block of Maribel Avenue was investigated as a home invasion and murder.

Officers on the scene said it appeared three suspects entered the home and a struggle ensued and that was when Walthall was shot.

Police said there were other people inside the home, who were sleeping at the time of the shooting.
