Jaida Williams named new CCU head coach

Jaida Williams hired as CCU women's coach

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina's search for its next women's head basketball coach came to an end on Thursday night. The Lady Chants will officially introduce Jaida Williams as the head of the program at a press conference on Friday afternoon.

Coastal Carolina Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek made the announcement official via his twitter feed.

"Join me in following CCU's new WBB Coach Jaida Williams @CoachJaida and welcome her to the Chanticleer family. #goteal #gochants," Yurachek tweeted on Thursday night.

Williams most recently was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wake Forest last season. Prior to working for the Deacons, she was a skills development coordinator for players in the WNBA, and also spent time on the staffs of Iowa, South Florida and UC Santa Barbara.

She is the sixth coach in the history of the women's program at CCU, and will take the place of Alan LeForce, who retired after the season after 16 years with the program and the program's all-time winningest coach.
