DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - A child was bitten by a dog in Darlington on Tuesday after entering his neighbor's yard.
City of Darlington Police Chief Danny Watson says the seven-year-old boy crawled through a fence to get in the yard where his neighbor's dog was kept.
And that's when the mixed-breed canine bit him three times. Those wounds are not life-threatening and the child is expected to be ok, Chief Watson said.
The child did take a trip to the hospital where he received stitches.
Watson assured the dog will be quarantined for 10 days, per the protocol for these incidents, to see if it shows any signs of rabies.
