Marion mayor unseated by long-time council member

MARION, SC (WMBF) – Incumbent mayor of Marion, Rodney Berry, has been unseated by long-time city council member Bobby L. Davis, according to the unofficial election results.

Davis received 1,377 votes to Berry's 1,153, the Marion county Voter Registration Office confirmed Wednesday morning, meaning the City of Marion will have a new mayor.

Emerson Hunt beat out Betty Wright and Pamela McRae for the District 3 seat on the City Council, and Odessa Gregg narrowly beat Jerry Mitchell, 224 votes to 216, to win the District 5 seat.

Michael Baker ran unopposed for the District 6 seat.

The results from Tuesday's Municipal Election will be officially certified on Friday, April 12 at 8:30 a.m. at Election Headquarters on Airport Court in Marion County.
