Marion holds elections for Mayor, City Council Tuesday

MARION, SC (WMBF) – An election in Marion Tuesday will pit incumbent Mayor Rodney Berry against longtime city councilman Bobby L. Davis.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. Tuesday morning to 7 p.m. Tuesday night. Candidates are also vying for positions on the City Council, representing districts 3, 5 and 6.

Rodney Berry has served as the city's mayor since April 2009.

Citizens can vote at the following polling places, according to a news release from the City of Marion:

-Marion 1 Marion Fire Department

-Marion II Opera House

-Marion North Marion Intermediate School

-Marion South Grice's Recreation Center

-Barrier Free/Absentee Registration/Elections Office

The Marion County Voter Registration and Election Commission will hold a hearing on Friday, April 12, to determine the validity of any ballots challenged.
