MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to reports of a large fight at Club Karma on Ocean Boulevard Friday night; video on YouTube shows a very large crowd dispersing from the club onto the streets.
Officers responded to Club Karma at about 9:20 p.m. Friday to find a large crowd encompassing the sidewalk from Mr. Joe White to 12th Ave. North waiting to enter, according to police reports.
Karma is a dance club geared towards teens that does not allow alcohol, drugs or smoking, according to their website.
Club security employees told an officer there was a large fight involving about 20 people inside the club. As the officer went upstairs, a rush of people went downstairs and out onto the street. The report states that the fight had ended, but there were several people in the club acting aggressively.

The responding officers had difficulty moving around the packed club, and the report states that "the club seemed over capacity as there was no area of the building not occupied by people." The DJ then announced over the PA system that the club was closed, and an officer radioed for additional officers, "and to advise that the large hostile crowd was going to be dispersed onto the street," the report states.
Several officers assisted with moving large groups of teenagers off the streets and out of the area.
The club's door staff told police that the counter clickers had broken, and they had no idea how many people were inside the club.
