FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A woman has been killed, allegedly after a teenager hit her with his car.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Sonny Collins told WMBF News that the accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. on Tanyard Street in Timmonsville.

The trooper said the victim, later identified as 50-year-old Veronica Damon from Timmonsville, was walking on Tanyard Street when she was hit and killed by 19-year-old Zacchaeus Morris, who was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile.  Morris left the scene of the accident, but came back later to talk to investigators, Collins said.

According to the Florence County Detention Center web site, Morris was booked and charged with Felony DUI and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken has identified the victim as 50-year-old Veronica Damon of Timmonsville. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine her exact cause of death.
