Job fair in Georgetown Co. next weekend is just for teens

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Attention teens looking for extra cash this summer: The Georgetown County Library and SC Works Waccamaw are hosting a job fair just for you next weekend.

Here are the details, from a Georgetown County news release:

Teens who are looking for summer work, take note: Georgetown County Library and SC Works Waccamaw are offering a job fair just for you. The Teen Job Fair will be held on April 13th from 11 a.m. until noon at the Beck Administration Building at 2018 Church Street.

"There are some great jobs out there for teens looking for a summer paycheck," said Library Director Dwight McInvaill. "From farming to food service, there are positions that build your resume and give you some spending money."

The job fair will feature hiring businesses, a "resume doctor," and lots of fun giveaways. There will be information about continuing education and job training.

"The library's purpose is to provide free, unbiased information and services," McInvaill said. "This is a great chance to see what's out there for you, with no pressure."

The Job Fair is sponsored by the library, SC Works Waccamaw, and a Smart investing@your library® grant provided through a partnership of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation and the American Library Association. If you have any questions, call the library at 545-3300.
