MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Grand Strand man is facing burglary charges after the public helped the Marion County Sheriff's Office identify him as a suspect.

The sheriff's office asked the public to help identify the suspect of a burglary of a residence off Zion Road in Mullins, where police say the male suspect entered the residence at 10:36 a.m. on March 14 through a window.

He reportedly took a handgun, silverware and a computer.

The photos they released and tips they received led to the arrest of 22-year-old Joshua Allen Hayes of North Myrtle Beach.

He was released on a $50,000 surety bond on his first degree burglary charge.
