Myrtle Beach mother arrested for allegedly striking, choking son

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 38-year-old woman was arrested after her juvenile son reported that she screamed at him and struck him at their home Sunday night.

Myrtle Beach Police responded to the home of Amanda Kuzmin at about 8:13 p.m. Sunday, and upon arriving, an officer spoke Kuzmin's son, who said he was involved in a physical dispute with his mother, according to the incident report.

The victim said while he was sitting on the couch, Kuzmin entered the room, and started screaming at him and striking him, the report states.

The arrest report states that Kuzmin was arrested on a charge of unlawful neglect of a child after allegedly choking and striking her son repeatedly. The Department of Social Services was notified, and Kuzmin was transported to the Myrtle Beach Police Department Jail.
