NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say a Friday night shooting that sent two people to the hospital appears to have started after one of the victims showed up for a drug deal.
According to officials, officers were called to 1815 Clements Ave. shortly before 11:30 p.m. in response to a shooting that took place inside an apartment, leaving two people injured.
Investigators say the victim and another man arrived at the apartment to conduct a drug deal. Once inside the apartment, three other suspects showed up and an altercation took place between the suspects and the victim.
Police say shots were then fired and the victim got shot. He was transported to MUSC in critical condition.
A second victim was also hit, according to police. The second victim left the apartment and was found at 1819 Clements Avenue. He was also taken to MUSC, but with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators are working to identify the suspects involved in the shooting.
