Biker Bluegrass festival raises funds for local non-profit

SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) –  Grand Strand bikers traded their bikes for fiddles and banjos to benefit local veterans at the third annual Biker Bluegrass Festival at Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson in Surfside Beach on Saturday.

This year they teamed up with Veterans Welcome Home & Resource Center, a non-profit organization that helps local veterans.

"We were so excited when they called us up and said we're going to do this for you," said Kris Tourtellotte, Director of Veterans Welcome Home & Resource Center. "The first year we started, we signed a lease with no money in our pocket, and the community has supported us to the tune. Last year, we cave out over $21,000 in assistance to veterans."

Admission was free but all donations go straight to the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center.
