FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Fire officials are still searching for the cause of a fire that cause heavy damage to a home in the Florence area.

The three engine companies, ladder company and multiple first responders from the Florence Fire Department, Florence Police Department and Florence County EMS had the fire extinguished and situation controlled in under 20 minutes.

Though their were no injuries, fire department spokesman and Fire Marshal Ken Carr reports the fire caused heavy damage to the home.

"The Florence Fire Department wants to remind drivers that when approach an active fire scene it is extremely important that you do not drive over fire hoses. It can cause water being supplied to firefighters to be disrupted. This can have dangerous results for firefighters inside the building fighting the fire. It is also illegal to drive over fire hoses," Ken Carr says.
