'Biggest Loser' winner a Clemson alum

PICKENS COUNTY, SC - The most recent winner of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" has ties to the Upstate.

In the season finale Monday night, 26 year old Danni Allen was crowned the winner.

Allen cried as she was named the winner. For that accomplishment, she takes home a $250,000 prize.

In her 11 weeks on the ranch, Allen lost 121 pounds, nearly 50 percent of her body weight.

When she started the show she weighed in at 258 pounds.

At her weigh-in Monday night, she revealed that she had slimmed down to 137 pounds.

Allen graduated from Clemson University with a degree in architecture and a minor in business administration.

She said in her bio on the NBC website that her father's recent health scare convinced her that she needed to lose weight.

Allen admits she has struggled with weight her whole life.

"The biggest thing is when Jillian asked me, 'Why are you the way you are?' She made me question myself and know mentally that needed to change and once the mental click happened, the food, the workout, that was the easy part," said Allen after her win.

On the "Today Show" Tuesday, Allen revealed that she plans to buy her first bikini.

She also said she and the second place finisher, Jeff Nichols, made a side bet that whoever won would take the other on vacation.

She says the first thing she plans to do is take that vacation with Jeff and his girlfriend.
