MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police in Myrtle Beach are investigating after reporting a
string of oceanfront businesses were vandalized overnight.
And incident reports state city property was victim too. In
five different incidents, found between 10:15 p.m. Monday night and 12:15 a.m.
Tuesday morning, police found several words painted on the front walls of buildings
and the sides of trash cans with orange paint.
The first incident was reported at the Windsurfer Motel on
the 200 block of North Ocean Boulevard where someone noticed the word "smoke" graphitized
on the wall.
Police later discovered that same orange paint on city trash
cans on First Avenue South and the front wall of the Oceans One Hotel, MVS
Enterprises and the Sea Gypsy Motor Inns.
Each time the assumed vandals left messages such as "smoke" or "blaze."
No suspects or motive were listed in the reports.
