Coastal
Carolina University students, faculty and staff are collecting donations for 10
students who lost their lodgings and belongings in the Windsor Green fire at
Carolina Forest this past Saturday. Some staff members are also affected by the
incident. Twenty-six buildings of condos and single-family homes were destroyed
in the fire.
The Lib Jackson
Student Center is the collection point for all donations, including clothing,
personal hygiene supplies, bedding, blankets and school supplies.
Any student affected
by the fire should contact Dean of Students Travis Overton at 843-349-4160.
University Housing has identified housing space for students who have lost
their lodging. Food vouchers are available from Aramark. Students in need may
apply for financial help through a special emergency financial aid fund.
Goodwill Industries is providing vouchers for three outfits of clothing.
Counseling Services is available to provide counseling assistance.
Volunteer Services is
helping to coordinate the relief effort. For more information about volunteer
