HCFR douses 2 'suspicious' brush fires

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A matter of hours after fire and rescue crews responded to a massive fire in the Carolina Forest area, police were called to a pair of "suspicious" fires in a nearby subdivision.

Horry County Police responded to two brush fires in the Avalon subdivision Sunday night, moments after the flames were extinguished by Horry County Fire Rescue crews.

"The fires appear to be suspicious at this time and are under investigation," HCPD officials posted on their Facebook page.

No suspects or motives have been identified at this time.
