Welcome to Myrtle Manor is up and running, the feedback is in and it's not good. Most people believe the show creates a bad image for our area and hurts our chances of convincing more people to choose the Grand Strand for their vacation.
The problem with reality TV is there is little, if anything, real about it. In fact, a more appropriate name would be unreality TV. Whether it is Duck Dynasty, Real Housewives, Pawn Stars or Myrtle Manor, it's pretty easy to realize that the majority of the show is staged.
But here's the good news. Ultimately all TV shows live or die by the number of viewers who tune in. After wasting an hour of my life watching the first episode of Welcome to Myrtle Manor, I hope the cast isn't betting on a second season.
