Polls open Tuesday in election for Horry Co. chair

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – The 2013 Horry County Council Chair Republic Primary Election is Tuesday; polls for the election will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Under South Carolina's new Voter I.D. law, registered voters will be required to show one of the following five forms of identification:  South Carolina driver's license, South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles identification card, voter's registration card with picture, Federal military identification with picture, or a United States passport.

County officials state curbside voting will be available for any voter because of a physical handicap or aged 65 or older. Those cannot enter the polling place may vote outside of the polling place in their car.

Unofficial results will be posted by Horry County election officials immediately after the results are tallied.
