MYRTLE BEACH – Will Remillard and Nick Oberg each had three hits and three Chanticleer pitchers combined to shutout Harvard as Coastal Carolina (6-8) handed the Crimson (1-4) a 10-0 loss Saturday afternoon as part of the Coastal Carolina Invitational, played at Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

With the win, 18th-year Coastal Carolina head coach Gary Gilmore improved to 699-350 since taking over the Chanticleer program in 1996. He will go for win 700 Sunday as Coastal hosts Ohio State at 3 pm. (CCU will also host Ohio State Monday at 4 pm.)

Remillard was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, while Oberg was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Jake Kane, Colin Hering and Alex Buccilli each added two RBI. Also Jacob May was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, whole making two key defensive plays – one in the first inning and one in the ninth – to preserve the shutout.

On the mound, starter Tyler Poole (2-1) pitched six innings, scattering five hits. He did not allow a walk and struck out five. Austin Wallace worked the seventh and eighth innings, allowing no hits or walks with a strikeout. In the ninth, Brady Arenson allowed two hits and two walks, but kept the shutout in order when Ethan Ferreira singled to center with two runners on. Coastal's May fired a strike home and retired Jordan Haviland at the plate.
