(WECT/CNN) – Facebook is getting some positive feedback from its users following the announcement of a new version of the social media platform's News Feed.
"Love it! "Just signed up for the waiting list." Tim Williams commented on Vadim Lavrusik's post Thursday afternoon about the new changes.
CNN is reporting the social media company shared the revamped feed at a press conference at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.
During the news conference, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said that the News Feed has evolved from mostly text updates to photos and video, as well as following groups and famous people.
According to a post from Lavrusik, the new design "reduces clutter and focuses more on stories from the people you care about." He says viewers will still be able to see all the stories you saw in your News Feed before, but with "a fresh new look."
Lavrusik said Facebook developers have rebuilt each category to make the feed more "vibrant and colorful" while highlighting the content users want to see.
"Beautiful! Can't wait to try it out," Raissa Coppola commented on Facebook in response to Lavrusik's post.
The changes have not automatically been pushed to Facebook users at this time. Users can opt into the new look by requesting to get on a waiting list.
According to the about News Feed page, the changes will be coming to iPhone, iPad and Android soon.
Facebook's News Feed debuted in 2006 and has remained mostly unchanged, according to CNN.
