MURRELLS INLET (WMBF) – A bank robbery occurred Monday afternoon at the NBSC Bank located at 3796 Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet, Georgetown County Sheriff's officials confirmed.

At about 2:30 p.m. Monday, a suspect entered the bank and demanded money from an employee; no one was injured during the incident and no weapon was brandished, sheriff's officials stated in a news release.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5-feet-9-inches tall, wearing dark clothing, possibly a flannel shirt, and a mask, said Carrie Cuthberson with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash heading west, and was seen driving off in a newer model four-door bright blue compact hatchback vehicle, in an unknown direction.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or has information about the robbery is asked to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5101.

Anonymous tips can also be sent by using Text-A-Tip, Cuthberson stated. Just dial 274637 from any text enabled cell phone, and text the word "GCSOTIP" followed by your message.
