MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A large gas line running from Pampas Drive in Myrtle Beach to Wachesaw Road in Murrells Inlet was ruptured Monday afternoon, fire officials confirmed.
Contractors ruptured the 6-inch line while searching for a line at parking construction project, said Mark Kruea with the City of Myrtle Beach.
Several roads in the area, including Pampas Dr. from Crabtree Lane to Meyers Ave., were closed after the line was ruptured, according to Capt. Bruce Arnel with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.
There were no evacuations ordered, and Capt. Arnel said everything should be fixed and cleared up in a couple of hours. Kruea confirmed that service will be restored south of the break in about one and a half hours.
