Smoke visible from prescribed burn near Loris, officials confirm

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A column of smoke may visible as crews perform a prescribed fire in the area of Highways 9 and 905, near the Waccamaw River, officials confirmed.

According to the South Carolina Forestry Commission, crews are doing a hazard reduction fire on property between the towns of North Myrtle Beach and Loris. The burn area is about 140 acres.
