Two guests have filed a class action lawsuit that can include people who stayed at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles between Feb. 1-19. (Source: CNN)(CNN) - Two former guests are suing the owners of a hotel where a woman's remains were found in water tank.
Steve and Gloria Cott have filed a class action lawsuit that can include people who stayed at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles between Feb. 1-19.
Police say that's about how long Elise Lam's body was floating in the hotel's water tanks.
Guests drank, bathed, and brushed their teeth with the water.
The lawsuit claims that the hotel did not provide water fit for human ingestion or use, as promised.
The Los Angeles Public Health Department tested the water, but found no harmful bacteria in the tank or pipes.
Elise Lam checked into the hotel on Jan. 26.
Los Angeles Authorities have not officially determined how she died.
They are waiting on further examination, and that could take as long as eight weeks.
