Witness' call leads police to larceny suspect

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) - A man is facing charges for larceny after a concerned citizen caught him in the act and called police.

The citizen reported there was a suspicious male in dark clothes "going through a vehicle" who then fled from Thrasher Circle on a bicycle around 4:30 a.m. on Tues., Feb. 26.

When police arrived to canvass the area, they found 29-year-old Brandon Cole and several cell phones, iPods, tools and unopened packages of cigarettes that were determined to be stolen from residents in the area.

Those items were returned to their rightful owners. Brandon Cole is charged with four counts of larceny/breaking into motor vehicle and three counts of larceny/petit or simple larceny $2,000 or less. He is currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
