LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF) – Power went out for about 44 Santee Cooper customers Wednesday afternoon after a bird flew into a power line, Santee Cooper officials confirmed.
Viewers in the area of the Lightkeeper's Village neighborhood reported hearing a loud "pop" when the power went out. A Santee Cooper representative said that a bird flew into a power line and caused a short.
Another viewer said there is traffic along Highway 17 as trucks in the area are working to fix the outage.
