Just when we thought we had survived the Fiscal Cliff we now have the looming sequestration. OMG. Can it get any worse in Washington?
It's time for Congress and the White House to sit down and come up with a long-term plan. This ongoing stalemate where we delay the inevitable a few months at a time is an economic version of water torture. It is creating more stress and uncertainty for our economy and that's the last thing we need in this unstable environment.
Both parties are to blame. The gridlock has to stop. We can't continue to spend at the current levels and we can't ask already struggling Americans to pay more. It's time to cut funding for non-critical programs and shift that tax revenue to other vital programs. That's a common sense solution. Unfortunately, common sense and Washington D.C.…that's an oxymoron.
