Drug interdiction nets 11 arrests

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A two day "joint drug interdiction" in the Conway area led to the seizure of hundreds of dollars in cash and several arrests.

The operation was conducted by the Horry County Sheriff's Office, Horry County Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol and Conway Police on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

Conway Police spokesman Catina Hipp says their efforts were focused in and around the Huckabee Heights, Darden Terrace and Ninth Avenue areas and the corridors that connect them.

At its conclusion, the operation netted 198 enforcement contacts, 50 citations including 18 for drug violations, the seizure of over $800, 11 arrests, and the service of four outstanding warrants.
