COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – A Florence
woman has won the Palmetto Cash 5's top prize for a third time in seven years, a
first for the South Carolina game, according to lottery officials.
The unnamed woman won
$100,000 after letting the computer pick her winning numbers on Tuesday,
February 12, according to a news release from the South Carolina Education
Lottery. She says she plays the Palmetto Cash 5 every day, and only that game.
Her two previous Palmetto
Cash 5 wins were for $200,000 each, and were also quick picks, the news release
states.
She considers this recent win to be the
most unexpected, but not because she didn't think she would win again.
"I plan to win it some more," she says.
The odds of winning $100,000 are 1
in 501,942, lottery officials state. To date, lottery play has resulted
in more than $2.9 billion transferred to support education.
